Ocean Shores Parks Board elects officers, names Laura Amann secretary

The Ocean Shores Parks Board held officer elections at its Feb. 13 meeting, choosing Stacy Lynn as board president and approving a vice president and a secretary by voice votes. The board also confirmed Laura Amann will serve as the parks board secretary; members noted she has been handling the role informally and will now do so officially.
The elections came during a brief reorganization that the board said was its first time conducting officer elections. Nominations were made from the floor and seconded; all were approved by voice vote. The meeting record shows no roll-call tallies were recorded for the officer votes.
Board members present included Paul Winchester, Robert Doreen, Bill Skorick and student liaisons Kyla and Malik (joining by Zoom). Becky Leach, the city’s project manager who worked on recent park projects, attended as city staff. The board also announced two park board vacancies and said it will solicit candidates.
The newly elected officers will take on leadership of ongoing parks projects, including grant applications and park maintenance tasks. The board scheduled its next meeting in March.
