The Preservation Commission granted a certificate of appropriateness for alterations at 1122 Judson Avenue, a Tudor‑style house. Studio Tallo Architects principal Jennifer Holtz described three components: a small corner infill, interior renovations on the rear of the house and a wraparound porch with a standing‑seam metal roof, stone piers and a screened porch section.
Holtz said the design would use stucco and trim to match existing materials, retain existing openings where possible and incorporate a pergola to increase daylight to the kitchen. Commissioners requested additional axonometric views to clarify the porch termination and suggested a simplified trim detail for a small bathroom window to better integrate with surrounding fenestration.
A motion to grant a certificate of appropriateness, with a recommendation to trim the smaller bathroom window to match other windows, was made and seconded; the commission approved the motion on a unanimous voice vote.
Next steps: the applicant may proceed per the approved Certificate of Appropriateness; the commission’s recommendation included a nonbinding trim recommendation to be addressed in construction documents.
