The board approved an amendment to the development agreement for ABC Weston LLC (3200 Schofield Ave.) that adds the site plan and building elevations —as currently built— to Exhibit B and authorizes release of 50% of the TIF (tax-increment financing) funding for phase 1.
Trustees and planning staff discussed landscaping requirements and the project's point system for green space versus hardscaping. Several trustees said they favor flexibility that reduces maintenance burdens on businesses while preserving curb appeal; staff and the plan commission said planned code updates will clarify acceptable alternatives such as rock or low-maintenance surfaces.
The motion to amend the exhibit and release half of the allocated TIF for phase 1 passed by voice vote. Trustees asked staff to ensure landscaping points and future phases are enforced and to return with any code changes recommended by the plan commission.
What happens next: the amended Exhibit B will be incorporated into the development agreement and staff will work with the developer on compliance with landscaping points and future phase approvals.
