Hawaiian Gardens council continues public hearing on boat-sales MUP and two license appeals to March 11

Staff requested a continuance of three items during the Feb. 11 meeting so the city attorney and staff could finish conditions of approval and the property owner could submit a site plan. The items were: the minor use permit (MUP) for a proposed boat-sales business at 12347 East Carson Street and business-license appeals for Chavez Unlimited Construction and Precision Roofing.
"Tonight, we are requesting a continuance of the public hearing for an MUP for boat sales as well as a continuance of the business license appeals...to allow the city attorney and city staff time to work on the conditions of approval and to provide additional time for the property owner to submit a site plan to the city for review," staff (Elise) said. The council moved to continue the three items to the March 11 meeting. A roll-call vote recorded unanimous 'Yes' votes and the motion carried.
Why it matters: Continuing the hearing delays any final decision on the MUP and related appeals while staff and the property owner finalize technical documents and proposed conditions. The new date gives the city more time to review a site plan and allows additional council consideration.
