Council adopts employee handbook and amendments to FY26 financial plan
Summary
On Feb. 10 the La Plata Town Council adopted Ordinance 26-01 (new employee handbook) and adopted Ordinance 26-02 (amendment to FY26 financial plan to realign the police department); motions carried on recorded 'ayes' during the meeting.
At the Feb. 10 meeting the council took up two pieces of legislation.
Ordinance 26-01 (Town of La Plata employee handbook) was presented on second reading. A councilmember moved to adopt and another seconded; council recorded aye votes and the motion carried.
Ordinance 26-02 (amendment to the FY26 financial plan/budget to reflect a realignment of the La Plata Police Department) was presented for second reading introduction, moved, seconded and adopted after discussion. The motions were recorded as carried with no opposition voiced on the record.
The council did not record individual named votes in the transcript beyond members saying "aye"; the minutes will include the formal roll call recorded in the official meeting minutes.
