At the Main Street Board meeting on Feb. 11, 2026, the promotions committee and community partners used public comment to outline upcoming downtown events and business resources.
Kate, speaking for the promotions committee, said the group met Feb. 6 and listed scheduled and planned events: a quarterly business‑owners meeting on Feb. 13; Shop & Stroll on Feb. 14; a third‑Thursday live music event on Feb. 19; and a ‘What’s Happening Wednesday’ program on Feb. 25. The committee is pursuing a dog‑diving act for the May dog days event and booking a themed mini‑golf attraction for June. Kate said the downtown events site has received 118 musical talent applications for the summer—far above last year’s total of about 34—and the committee expects to finalize bookings by March.
Annette Stone of the Adrianne Armory described an upcoming 12‑week business education class beginning in March with an orientation on Feb. 28. She also promoted networking events, including Good Morning Lenawee (tomorrow at 8 a.m.), a March 19 networking meeting at 5 p.m., and lunch‑and‑learn sessions on Feb. 25 (County National Bank) and March 4 (Adrian Armory). Stone said a $10 donation covers lunch and course materials for the lunch‑and‑learn sessions.
Scott Westfall used his public comment to thank the board for work on accountability and public trust, noting appreciation for board service during a difficult period.
These items were delivered during the public comment portion of the meeting, which the board preserved even after tabling the rest of the agenda. The promotions committee and Armory representatives encouraged community participation and said more details would be posted on downtown channels as bookings are confirmed.
