Board approves dissolution of Tunica County Health Care Authority; employees to move to county payroll

The Public Employees Retirement System of Mississippi board approved a claims committee recommendation to allow the dissolution of the Tunica County Health Care Authority.
Bill Benson, reporting for the claims committee, said the authority will dissolve and the roughly 15 employees who worked for it are expected to move to the Tunica County Board of Supervisors and remain covered under PERS. "As we understand it, the 15 or so employees are gonna be moving to the Board of Supervisors, so they will remain in the PERS system," Benson said.
Trustees voted by voice to accept the committee’s recommendation; there was no further discussion and no recorded roll-call vote in the transcript.
Benson also reported that Jefferson County Hospital’s account is now current, so no action was required on that matter.
