Council approves giving guide, infrastructure funding application and water asset-plan contract

Price City Council unanimously approved several administrative items and applications during its Feb. 11 meeting, including a consolidated sponsorship packet for city events and two infrastructure-related items.
The council approved the 2026 Price City Giving Guide, a packet Megan Marshall described as a single outreach item for local and regional sponsors covering events such as the Renaissance Festival, the downtown district events, an international festival and a proposed Rock and Coal Festival. Marshall said the seed grant of $1,500 will cover initial expenses and ticket sales and a local sponsor will back unsold tickets if needed.
Council also approved a funding application to the Joint Highway Committee to complete a canal crossing on 300 East. Staff noted the project will widen the culvert to allow ADA-accessible sidewalks on both sides and that funding is scheduled for 2028. The council moved and seconded approval and adopted the application by voice vote.
Separately, council approved adding a water asset-management plan to the current water-replacement project scope. Staff said a finalized asset management plan — an inventory and maintenance plan for pipes, valves and hydrants — is required by the funder as part of the grant conditions. The council voted to contract with the Joint Center of General Engineering to complete that plan.
The consent agenda (items a–i) was approved by motion and voice vote. The council also struck (removed) the pedestrian-safety presentation from the agenda after the presenter was not present. No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript; approvals were recorded as voice votes with "Aye."
