The purchase price on the agenda was $8,366, which the council approved by motion and unanimous vote.
Staff described the operational risk if the valve had failed, including recurring water loss and nightly inspections to monitor tank levels. Council approved the purchase so crews could install the replacement promptly and avoid further service interruptions.
The purchase was approved as an immediate procurement; staff will proceed with installation and report back on completion.
