The Banning Unified School District board approved a range of routine and action items on Feb. 11, taking unanimous votes on consent calendar items, human‑resources resolutions and multiple business and contracting actions.
Key approved HR items included adoption of Resolution 26‑011 to release temporary certificated employees pursuant to Education Code 44954; the board also opened required public hearings and adopted "sunshine" proposals for negotiations with the Banning Teachers Association for the 2026–27 negotiation year (items recorded as public hearings and then adopted). The board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools for bilingual authorization and a PK–3 intern program.
On business items, the board conducted a public hearing and then approved Resolution 26‑009 authorizing conveyance of an easement and a purchase agreement with Southern California Gas Company and a temporary right‑of‑entry agreement. The board approved a Best Contracting Services deduct change order for roofing project phase 3, an Optura Energy solar project change order, notices of completion, and ratification of various contractual agreements. The board also approved monthly fiscal services reports, bank reconciliations and warrant registers.
Most motions were moved by Trustee Martinez Lara and seconded by Clerk Trautman; roll call and votes recorded the actions as passing 3‑0 in each instance. No public comments were received on these items when hearings were opened.
