Kosciusko County Council approves appointments, multiple grants and creates separate probation fund

Several departmental requests drew unanimous or voice approval. A county law-enforcement representative, Chris, asked permission to apply for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources marine patrol grant for $15,000 to supplement lake-patrol officer pay: “We're expecting it,” Chris said of the award. The council approved applying for the grant (motion by Rachel; second by Kimberly).
The council approved two insurance-reimbursement appropriations for county vehicles: $1,156.65 for a 2021 Ford Explorer involved in a sideswipe collision and $5,469.71 for a 2020 Ford Explorer damaged in a deer strike. It likewise approved…
