The Suamico Village Board unanimously approved renewal of a facility usage agreement with the Howard‑Suamico Youth Sports Association for 2025–2029 at its Oct. 7 meeting.
Parks director Lemke said HUSA uses multiple village parks and fields for practices, games and tournaments and has made park improvements (batting cages, dugout and fencing work) totaling just over $41,000 since 2022. The renewed agreement gives HUSA scheduling priority for ball diamonds during their season and continues the village policy of not charging usage fees.
During discussion, a trustee raised concerns that the association’s $1,000,000 liability coverage might be low for modern recreational activities and asked administration to have the village’s general liability insurer advise whether that limit is adequate; administration agreed to ask the insurer and report back. The contract was approved by roll‑call vote 5–0.
