Tombstone Vigilantes promote Vigilante Days and downtown flag program

Tammy Jo, who identified herself as the current chief of the Tombstone Vigilantes, said the group — a 501(c)(3) that has operated for 78 years — acts as an ambassador for Tombstone and raises donations to support local events and charities. "We are considered the ambassadors of Tombstone," she said.
Flag initiative and community display: The group is partnering with the Eldorado board and local businesses to buy and install American flags along Allen Street to create a "sea of flags" for photo opportunities and civic celebration. Participating businesses would be responsible for placing and removing flags each day, the chief said, and the display is planned for flag months and major summer events, then remain through fall before shifting to Christmas decorations.
Vigilante Days event: Tammy Jo said Vigilante Days is a two-day event (Saturday and Sunday) featuring live street entertainment from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., different skit groups including a visiting Yuma troupe, and family activities. She also noted Shootout Arena will host a bull-riding event beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday.
