Henry County commissioners approve routine claims, payroll, bonds, small repairs and a Medicaid ambulance reimbursement renewal

The board approved the previous meeting minutes and certified claims and payroll by voice vote (each item carried by a reported 3-0 tally). The board approved a request from the Newcastle Land Bank, represented by Mike Broyles, to transfer 14 county properties to the Land Bank; the treasurer, Bill Upchurch, had reviewed the list and raised no objection.
Information-technology staff explained that the county’s three-node server had reached the end of five years of included hardware and software support. Staff asked commissioners to approve a one-year renewal of software support for $1,081.44 while the county budgets phased hardware replacement; commissioners approved the renewal 3-0.
Public-health/EMS staff requested renewal of the county’s Medicaid ambulance reimbursement agreement (referred to in the packet as a Malcon agreement) for another three years; staff reported last year’s gross reimbursements were about $69,000 with a net of roughly $45,000 after contractor fees. The board approved the three-year renewal by voice vote.
The board also approved an additional $1,182 to cover unforeseen concrete work on a YOC pipe repair and approved bonds for several county employees and offices; each motion passed on unanimous roll call.
Clerk’s monthly reports were accepted, and commissioners closed department reports with thanks to highway and courthouse crews for snow removal.
