MOUND — The City of Mound introduced Lindsay Erdman as its new finance director at the Feb. 10 council meeting. Erdman told the council she served four years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, has a bachelor’s degree in social work, a master’s in public policy from the Humphrey School, and previous municipal finance experience at the City of Minneapolis.
"My name is Lindsay Erdman, and I'm the new finance director," Erdman said, and she told council members her immediate priorities include reviewing the city’s finance code and financial policies. City staff said Erdman rose to the top of a strong candidate pool and will focus on improving invoice management, financial controls and oversight.
Council members welcomed Erdman and asked brief onboarding questions; Erdman said she had been on the job for two days and was still learning the department but would start policy reviews immediately.
