Commission approves replat for Oakland Exchange office development

The Town of Oakland commission voted Feb. 25 to approve a replat that consolidates Lots 5 and 6 of the Remington Plat to create a single development site for the Oakland Exchange office complex.
Brad Cornelius of Wade Trim, serving as the project’s contract town planner, told commissioners the change is the next step following the development agreement approved in December. The replat reflects an expanded 37,000-square-foot development site, eliminates some internal easements no longer required for separate lots and incorporates three development agreements and their amendments. Cornelius also said a Duke easement and an old Florida Power transmission guy wire that affect the property are now shown on the plat and that minor note changes requested by the town attorney had been addressed.
After the presentation Chair called for questions; none were raised from the table or the audience. An unidentified commissioner made the motion to approve and another commissioner seconded. The chair called the voice vote and commissioners approved the replat by voice ('all in favor'). No recorded roll-call vote or named tally was provided in the transcript.
The developer Wayne King was present at the meeting, and Cornelius indicated the signature plat reflects the town attorney’s edits. The commission did not specify additional conditions during the meeting.
