Oakland approves permitting software contract with regional planning commission

Oakland commissioners approved a software licensing and service agreement with the South Central Planning and Development Commission (SCPDC) for building permitting at their April 8 meeting.
Commissioner Elise Keller reported follow-up with SCPDC and said the packet included responses to prior questions. The mayor—s requested change requiring SCPDC to address tier-2 and tier-3 issues within 24 hours was made and attorneys have approved the revision, staff said. The mayor confirmed the contract is for the town—s building permitting program.
"This program, this grama is for permitting building permitting, program is what this is," a commissioner said during discussion, summarizing the service. Commissioners stated they were satisfied with the revisions, moved to approve the agreement, and the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff and commissioners noted that specific funding or implementation steps beyond contract approval would be addressed through the town—s normal budgeting and project implementation processes.
