Members present certify closed session compliance and defer further action to 7:00 p.m. public hearing

Members present at the meeting voted to certify that only matters lawfully exempted were discussed during a prior closed session, approving the certification in a 5-0 roll call and saying no formal action will come from that closed session.

Miss Lewis was asked to provide the formal motion. The certification language read aloud stated that “to the best of the members' knowledge, only public business matters lawfully exempted in the motion by which the closed session was called was considered or discussed in the closed session.” Mister Jesse moved to approve that statement and Mister Bill Harris seconded the motion.

Following the vote, participants said the body was not taking any action arising from the closed session and would wait until a scheduled 7:00 p.m. public hearing to resume substantive business. One participant described the interim as “kind of in limbo” and added, “We just wanted to, open everything back up.”
