Council reviewed a proposed 2026 street-paving list of eight candidate projects—including carryovers and streets deferred from 2025—and conditionally referred the list to the borough Streets Committee for review and recommendation. Staff said some work (for example, on East Linn Street) will be partially paid by a utility upgrade, and that the Valentine Hill repaving will follow a water-main replacement by the borough authority.
Separately, staff presented proposed amendments to the borough parking and traffic code (chapter 5-30) that would lift some year-round parking prohibitions on segments of Logan Street and add other segments (including a problematic S-curve on Hughes Street) to the prohibition list to improve school-bus and refuse-truck access. Council asked staff to provide photos and maps to make clear what segments would change enforcement status and to send the ordinance draft to the Streets Committee for detailed review before authorizing public hearings.
Council voted to refer the paving list and parking-code amendments to the Streets Committee and requested committee review of several additional streets mentioned by members as damaged by recent utility work. No final paving contract awards or ordinance enactments were made at the work session.
