The Logan City Council on Feb. 3 reviewed rezone application 2605, a request to rezone two parcels at 790 and 796 South Main (about 4.54 acres) from commercial to mixed use.
Staff (Amy) described the parcels, noted one adjacent parcel had already rezoned to mixed use, and explained that the applicant envisions an overall development plan that would eventually connect a proposed internal road with a longer-range connection to 80 East via UDOT and Providence City coordination. Among differences staff highlighted, mixed use permits ground-floor residential where commercial zoning does not and allows greater maximum building heights (mixed use figures were described in the presentation).
Planning Commission reviewed the application and forwarded a unanimous recommendation for approval; staff also recommended approval. No final council vote was taken; staff told the applicant the council would consider the item in two weeks.
