Alexis Alano, project manager with the Berwyn Development Corporation, presented development recognition awards Feb. 10 for Finish Line grant recipients who completed commercial property improvements in 2025.
Alano said the Finish Line grant program reimburses qualifying labor and material expenses for commercial property renovations within Berwyn’s TIF districts. In 2025, the BDC committed more than $135,000 in awards that leveraged over $330,000 in private investments, Alano said, and recognized several businesses and property owners who have completed visible exterior improvements that aim to enhance energy efficiency, visibility and street-level activation.
Awarded projects mentioned during the presentation included window replacements at Berwyn Dental Connection, exterior pavilion and dining enhancements at Fitzgerald and Baby Gold (6615 Roosevelt Road), and storefront awning and visibility upgrades at Pro 547 Cermak and other properties. Recipients present accepted plaques and posed for photos.
Mayor and council concurred to accept the communication as informational.
