The Culpeper County Planning Commission accepted its draft 2025 annual report and forwarded the document to the Board of Supervisors after a staff presentation describing membership, meeting attendance, case summaries and ordinance amendments.
Later in the meeting staff introduced ZTA‑15‑25‑1, a proposed zoning text amendment to create distinct definitions for utility power generation and storage facilities and to remove utility power generation as a permitted use in A‑1 (agricultural) zoning while adding conditional‑use pathways under industrial districts. Staff recommended tabling the item until after the General Assembly adjourns so pending state legislation can be considered; a commissioner moved to table and the Commission approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff told the Commission it may have up to three public hearings next month and reminded members of a special meeting on the capital improvements plan.
