Communications staff told the board that the district's migration from Remind to ParentSquare initially reduced reachability to about 67% but now stands at 98% after technical fixes; staff said they sent 49,234 messages in the prior 30 days and aim to maintain high engagement.
District communications staff updated trustees on a switch from the Remind platform to ParentSquare and reported recent improvements to parent contactability.
Communications lead Mr. Carmona said the district sent 49,234 messages in the previous 30 days, with a 91% success rate on Remind. When the district first went live on ParentSquare, only about 67% of parents were reachable because ParentSquare must pull contact data from the student information system; after technical adjustments and help from the district's data director, reachability climbed to 98%.
"We are now at 98% reachability, contactability," Carmona said, comparing the improved coverage favorably to the previous platform. He told the board staff would continue tailoring ParentSquare and monitor metrics to preserve or improve engagement.
Board members asked about the transition's effects on messaging and staff said they expect ParentSquare to improve communication capabilities once all integrations are complete.
