Facilities director reported fencing and demolition crews began work at the Jackson site; the district will bring AIA contract change orders for summer projects at Silver Brook, Badger and Greentree to a future board meeting for approval.
The district’s facilities team told the board demolition and site-preparation work has begun at the former Department of Public Works property at Jackson.
Director of Facilities and Technology Tim Harder said a fencing company was on-site and contractors were starting demolition and material reuse work; he reminded families that parts of the property have been used for student pickup and drop-off and that communications about safety will be sent to affected families. Harder said he will present additional AIA contract change orders for summer work at Silver Brook, Badger and Greentree at an upcoming board meeting and that work is expected to kick off shortly after the school year ends.
Harder said the district received favorable bid returns for planned summer projects and is working with the Findorff team on reviewing contracts. No action was taken at the meeting; the facilities director said he will report back in two weeks with further updates.
