The Banning Unified School District Board of Trustees announced several administrative appointments after closed session on May 22.
The board approved the appointment of Jaime Anaya and Yesenia Leon Silva as elementary assistant principals. Clerk Angiano reported the motion was made by President Ruiz and seconded by Trustee Trautman, and the motion carried on a 4‑0 vote. Yesenia Leon Silva, introduced by district staff, described her background in dual immersion programs and prior assistant‑principal experience and thanked the board for the opportunity.
The board also approved the appointment of Dr. Kevin Lee as assistant superintendent of human resources. The appointment was moved by Trustee Trautman, seconded by President Ruiz, and carried on a 4‑0 vote. Dr. Lee introduced his family and described his 32 years in education and past human‑resources leadership roles; he said he was "excited to commit to our district goals."
