Mayor and council share community announcements; praise for DPW snow response

Morristown recreation is recruiting summer 2026 staff, including lifeguards and playground staff; the mayor directed interested applicants to the town website for job postings.
The mayor recognized Carmela Saggio, Recreation Division program coordinator, as the New Jersey Recreation and Park Association’s employee of the year and thanked the business administrator, Jillian Barrick, for retention efforts. The mayor also offered condolences on the recent death of Alice Lloyd, co-owner of the Grand Cafe, and encouraged residents to support the family and the business.
In closing remarks the mayor and council praised Joe Curlo and the Department of Public Works for winter street and downtown snow removal and signaled plans to meet with partners to improve downtown clearing, parking access and meter issues after major snow events.
