Resident urges Springettsbury to add signage after repeated crashes on Dininger Road curve

Springettsbury Township — During citizen communications, resident Erin Michlak told the Board of Supervisors she and her family have lived at 3382 Dininger Road for 16 years and described an increase in dangerous driving near a curve on Dininger Road, including three serious crashes in the past 18 months, one that required an ambulance for three injured children.
Michlak said speed is frequently about 40 mph where the posted limit is 25 mph and that vehicles have entered yards and damaged mailboxes. She said the township’s chief of police confirmed a traffic study is under way after she contacted the director of public works and police.
“I’m not worried about our yard,” Michlak said. “We just want to keep the yard safe for both us and our neighbors.” She requested additional signage placed closer to the curve or a blinking sign alerting drivers to the 25 mph speed limit. The board thanked her and noted the ongoing traffic study will guide any action.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; the resident was advised township staff and police are monitoring speeds and that signage requests will be considered based on the study’s findings.
