Springettsbury Township supervisors on the evening of the meeting unanimously authorized applying the township’s flexible development overlay to a 2.5‑acre parcel at the Galleria Mall for a proposed 98‑unit apartment building and voted to advertise Ordinance 2025‑06, the text amendment that would lower multifamily parking requirements and increase permitted building height in the flexible development district.
Attorney Tom Nahila of Barley Snyder, representing the applicant, said the two linked changes would (1) allow off‑street parking for multifamily in the flexible development district to be reduced from two spaces per unit to 1.5 spaces per unit and (2) increase the base permitted height from 45 feet to 55 feet with additional height tied to increased setback. "What we're asking to do is to amend the text to allow that parking ratio to go down to 1.5 spaces per unit," Nahila said during the public hearing.
