Board tables settlement and land‑development agreement for 701 Erland Drive, seeks solicitor review

During discussion of a business item titled “settlement and land development plan conditions agreement 701 Erland Drive,” a supervisor raised concerns about the way the agreement was drafted and moved to table the item until the next public meeting so the board could review it with the township solicitor.

The supervisor said he had “some confusion about this agreement” and was “hesitant to move forward until we've had sufficient opportunity to discuss it with our council,” later adding, “I don't have a problem with the fundamental concept behind it, but I'm not certain that the way this was drafted will achieve all of the objectives of the township. And, therefore, I am going to move that we table action on this agreement until our next public meeting and suggest that we schedule an executive session with our solicitor so that we can make sure that we have everything ironed out and we really understand the agreement.”

Another supervisor seconded the motion. The chair called for a vote and the motion to table carried with the board indicating unanimous assent on the record. Several supervisors asked to schedule the executive session promptly, with some offering availability immediately after the meeting.

No final decision on the substance of the settlement was made at the meeting; the board directed staff to arrange an executive session with the solicitor and to return the matter for further public consideration.
