Resident urges speed bumps and enforcement as board reviews one‑way option

Jeffrey Bowers, a township resident who identified his address as 1117 North Sherman and 10th Avenue, told the Springsbury Township Board of Supervisors the neighborhood is “riled up” over speeding and urged immediate action to slow traffic on 10th and 11th avenues. He said crews would soon install a gas line on 11th and warned, “Something needs to be done for somebody gets run out of her heart or even a child getting killed.”
Bowers told the board he has recorded videos and contacted staff repeatedly, saying enforcement has been insufficient and that “nothing’s get done.” He said he had called for a police officer two days earlier and had not seen one respond.
Board members and staff replied that reinstalling speed bumps was on the schedule after the streets were swept. A staff member said, “We were waiting till the streets were swept, which was just today. Okay. So it's on the schedule to put them back in.” The board also discussed converting some streets to one‑way to limit through traffic and said engineering drawings exist to evaluate that option.
The board did not adopt a new directive on enforcement at the meeting; supervisors said the issue is repeatedly discussed under old business and asked staff to keep the neighborhood informed about scheduling for the speed bumps and any traffic control changes.
