Springs Prairie supervisors unanimously adopt fire code, volunteer credit program, stop signs and county hazard plan

At a regularly scheduled meeting the board unanimously adopted an International Fire Code ordinance, a volunteer service credit ordinance (criteria to be set by a forthcoming resolution), an ordinance to add stop signs at three intersections and a resolution adopting York County's hazard mitigation plan.
The Springs Prairie Township Board of Supervisors on an otherwise brief agenda voted unanimously to adopt multiple ordinances and a county hazard plan required for disaster-relief eligibility.
The board adopted Ordinance 25-01 to amend chapter 156 and add chapter 156A, adopting the International Fire Code. Township staff advised the ordinance had been advertised as required and moved forward for adoption. "This ordinance has been advertised as required and is ready for adoption," said the township manager. A supervisor then moved for adoption, and the board approved the ordinance.
Separately, the board adopted Ordinance 2025-02 establishing a volunteer service credit program and related administrative procedures and appeals. A supervisor asked whether the ordinance requires a subsequent resolution to set the service-credit criteria; staff responded that the resolution containing the criteria will be considered at the next meeting. The township adopted the ordinance with that follow-up action noted.
The board also approved Ordinance 2025-03 to install stop signs on Carroll Road at Hickory Lane and Hickory Hill Lane, and at Carroll Road and Melrose Lane. Township staff said the ordinance had been advertised and was ready for adoption.
On multi-jurisdictional planning, staff explained York County had completed and adopted its 2024 hazard mitigation plan and that municipal adoption is required for eligibility for disaster-relief funds. The board adopted Resolution 2025-24 to adopt the county hazard mitigation plan.
Each of these items was presented as advertised, brought to a motion and, as the meeting record shows, approved by the board. The board also adopted a resolution authorizing disposition of records and authorized advertisement of an amendment to the Mount Zion Water District connection timeframe (see separate item).
