Teachers and students showcase Falcon Black Box Theater; district trailer and props supporting Frozen Jr. performance

Teachers and students presented a live update on Farmersville Unified's developing performing-arts program, describing a classroom-based Falcon Black Box Theater, a 24-foot equipment trailer obtained with district support, loaned props from Tulare County and plans for an upcoming Frozen Jr. performance.

Mister Corrales (identified in the meeting) described integrating theater across grade levels and said the program is intended to build soft skills in students. "We planted a seed," Corrales said, describing work with elementary and junior-high students and a 24-foot trailer that holds sets, lights and a 32-channel audio mixer.

The presenter said the program receives community and district support: Tulare County provided vocal training and prop loans (for example, 12-foot icicle props), and the district allowed use of a trailer and equipment. Corrales said he will provide a slideshow to the board and that opening-night plans include community invitations.

Board members praised the work and encouraged expansion to the high school. One board member noted prior district theater activity and urged continued support for staffing and instructors.
