Springettsbury honors Corporal Ogden F. Dickerson on retirement after 25 years

Springettsbury Township’s Board of Supervisors formally adopted Resolution 2024‑43 recognizing Corporal Ogden F. Dickerson upon his retirement after more than 25 years of service to the township police department.
The resolution, read into the record by the chair, notes Dickerson began his career on May 10, 1999, was assigned to criminal investigations on Nov. 19, 2004, was promoted to corporal on Aug. 18, 2014, and began his retirement on July 1, 2024. A colleague and field training officer recounted meeting Dickerson in 1999 and noted honors including Police Officer of the Year (2004) and service as a hostage negotiator on the York County quick response team.
During the meeting the board presented customary retirement items including a retirement badge and a firearm the officer had carried in service. Dickerson thanked the board and said it had been an honor to serve the community.
The board voted to adopt the resolution by voice vote.
