Park City approves multiple improvement resolutions and engineering contract for Briar Brook and Bearhill

The Park City council on Feb. 10 approved multiple resolutions and a design contract to advance neighborhood infrastructure projects.
Staff presented petitions and findings supporting improvement districts for Briar Brook phases. Council approved a resolution finding advisability for sanitary sewer improvements (estimated $765,000) to be assessed on petitioning lots; the resolution was approved subject to a letter of credit. The council also approved a paving improvement resolution (estimated $2,485,000) and a water-distribution resolution (estimated $780,000); in each case staff recommended approval and the council voted unanimously.
Separately, staff sought authorization to finalize design and construction engineering contracts with KE Miller Engineering for Bearhill Addition phases 3 and 4. The contract package aggregates multiple line items (paving, sanitary sewer, water) with a combined not-to-exceed amount of $242,000 to be paid from the capital projects fund. Council moved and approved the contract.
Council members were told the improvement districts had petition support from property owners and that apportionment methods were detailed in staff materials; the apportionments place assessment responsibility on the improvement districts with no city share reported in the staff summaries. Council approved all items by voice vote (recorded as unanimous).
