The Zephyrhills City Council unanimously approved the consent agenda on Monday, which included the contract establishing a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $26,000,000 for a new city yard and fleet facility.
Public Works Director Shane Lablock briefed council on phasing and schedule: the Administration Building and Building G (Fleet Shop) will be the first buildings, and staff expects to mobilize in April after executing the contract and issuing the notice to proceed. Lablock also said the project will proceed with owner‑architect‑contractor (OAC) meetings every two weeks, and the city will pass OAC minutes and agendas to the city manager for distribution to the council.
Council members pressed for regular updates and an option to attend OAC meetings when feasible; one council member asked that the project provide a live progress link or periodic aerial updates.
A separate consent item (item 2) was pulled for discussion, then discussed and approved in a subsequent roll call. The motions to approve both items passed by unanimous vote.
