At its Feb. 12 meeting the Springfield City School Committee elected Denise Hurst chairperson pro tem in the absence of Mayor Sarno and the vice chair, approved three sets of meeting minutes by roll call, and voted to adjourn after routine reports.
Denise Hurst was elected chairperson pro tem at the Springfield City School Committee meeting on Feb. 12 after nominations and a roll-call vote. The clerk opened nominations and a member nominated Hurst; a motion and a second followed and the committee recorded members present and absent before the chair was relinquished to Hurst.
The committee also approved three sets of minutes by roll call: the organizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026; the special meeting on Jan. 15, 2026; and the regular meeting on Jan. 15, 2026. Each motion was moved and seconded and passed by roll-call vote as recorded by the clerk.
With no unfinished or new business, Mrs. Gresham moved to adjourn, Mrs. Crawford seconded, and the committee voted to adjourn. The meeting concluded without further action.
