Commissioners framed the ordinance as part of a broader effort to make sure new development pays its share of infrastructure impacts while balancing what residents currently pay. One commissioner said: "we just gotta get up to speed with all this new development and making sure that we're covering that impacts of infrastructure," emphasizing the need to fund long-term town infrastructure needs.
What happens next: The ordinance will become effective per its codified effective-date provision included in the ordinance text; staff will proceed with implementation steps as authorized by the ordinance.
