Trustees approve fee changes, Weston Avenue relocation, ATV map updates and multiple equipment and budget items

The Village Board of Trustees moved through a packed agenda and approved a string of measures including fee schedule changes, a relocation order amendment for Weston Avenue, several public‑works purchases and a sanitary sewer rate increase.
The board voted to adopt Resolution 2024‑018 to amend the village fee schedule after trustees debated a proposed $250 charge for trustee special‑meeting licensing requests and whether to revisit the schedule after the November election. The motion carried by voice vote.
Trustees also approved Resolution 2024‑019, described in the packet as “Amendment number 1 to the relocation order and determination of necessity for Weston Avenue,” which terminated the necessity determination for the Weston Avenue road project. The resolution passed on a voice vote.
On public works and capital items the board approved purchase of a replacement sewer televising camera and authorized upfitting a truck with equipment and an optional dual‑steering installation at a combined cost trustees cited as roughly $270,612. Public Works staff told trustees the higher equipment bid was chosen for compatibility with the village’s existing fleet and the inclusion of a lifting crane accessory.
The board also approved a draft 2025 street‑maintenance budget to move forward to the next step in the budget process. Public Works said the plan prioritizes arterial routes and will be finalized before bidding in March.
In a budgetary vote with direct impact on utility customers, Trustee Zagami moved and the board approved a sanitary sewer rate change described in the meeting as “a 5% increase to the base sewer rate and an increase to the volume rate resulting in an overall approximate 20% increase,” with an effective date of Jan. 16, 2025. The motion passed by voice vote.
Other routine consent items — including vouchers, building permits and board acknowledgements — were approved by voice vote.
