Weston board raises committee stipends, sets effective date for trustee pay changes

The amendment was seconded and passed by a 4–2 vote. The board then voted on the main motion (as amended) and the chair announced that the amendment and original motion both passed.
Board members noted that elected officials who are seated would not receive midterm increases until they are reelected (the board discussed the legal opinion and timing) and discussed how stipends should be handled for appointed committee and commission members going forward.
The approved change directs staff to implement stipend increases starting the first payroll in 2025 and to adjust payroll processes to apply increases for appointed committee/commission members and elected officials in accordance with the board's direction and legal guidance.
