Daggett County authority receives construction update; elevator waterproofing still a concern

Unidentified Speaker 2 and Unidentified Speaker 4 told the Daggett County Municipal Building Authority on Feb. 3 that construction on the new municipal building and related water systems is progressing but that concerns remain about elevator waterproofing.
Board members were told the water connection was tied into the system the previous Saturday and crews are now working on the building water line. "They're installing the stainless steel pipe...and getting things hooked up," Unidentified Speaker 2 said. Unidentified Speaker 4 added that work to bring service from Bridge Valley Electric to the building has started and "it should be at the end of the week."
On the elevator, Unidentified Speaker 4 said contractors have been working on the waterproofing and "they assured...that it works," but emphasized the board remains cautious. "They did shut the pump off and the water didn't show like it was," Unidentified Speaker 4 said, adding the authority remains "still with concern, but they're moving forward."
The authority did not take formal action on the construction items beyond receiving the update. Members agreed to continue monitoring progress and to coordinate short follow-up meetings as needed.
