Board approves 2026–27 calendar, program changes, leases and finance claims

The Louisville Municipal School District board voted on several administrative and operational items during its meeting, approving the 2026–27 school calendar, program modifications at the Winston Lewisville Career and Technology Center, multiple lease actions and the January claims docket.

The board adopted the 2026–27 school calendar after discussion of pre-service and professional days and how they will be structured at the district level. Board members described the first week before classes as a district-led training period and approved the calendar by voice vote.

Members also approved two program changes at the Career and Technology Center effective for the 2026–27 year: the 'Forestry and technology' program will be replaced with 'Electrical Technology,' and the 'Work-based learning' program will be retitled to 'Business, Marketing and Finance.'

On finance, the board approved the claims docket numbered 342295 through 342405 and accepted the January 2026 bank balances and financial reports as presented.

Under property and lease business, the board approved four items: cancellation of a 1-acre residential lease and a 16-acre hunting lease (Kevin Wright); amendment to add Jim Reynolds to specified residential and hunting leases; amendment of a 2.5-acre residential lease to extend the term to 40 years and remove a non-reassignment clause (noted as necessary for an FHA loan); and authorization to advertise bids for 23 hunting leases that expire in 2026.

The board also approved a resolution naming the Lewisville High School entrance 'Coach MC Miller Drive.'

Finally, members moved and approved consideration of an executive session to discuss the 'DC Corridor,' following a request to revisit that topic from prior meetings. No substantive outcomes from that planned executive session were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
