Council passes multiple measures; 11 bills adopted on second reading and several committee reports approved

Charleston City Council on Feb. 10 moved through a series of procedural and legislative items, approving committee reports, appointments, and multiple bills in voice votes.

Appointments and committee adoption: Council approved three code enforcement officer appointments from the Department of Development Services (Alyssa, Zachary and William) by voice vote. The Public Safety Committee recommended adoption of the 2025 City of Charleston Hazard Mitigation Plan as an appendix to the Charleston Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan; the committee report was adopted by council.

Bills and readings: Council moved to approve bills 1 through 11 on second reading; following the motion, the council approved those items by voice vote. The council then moved for third reading and ratification on the same items and approved them by voice vote. Other: The council also heard and approved audit and Ways & Means reports and accepted committee reports from Public Works & Utilities and Traffic & Transportation.
