Board hears update that EDC funding will support feasibility study for Stansel Park

Board members heard an update that the EDC has allocated funding for a feasibility study of Stansel Park to determine potential improvements or reuse of the property. Speaker 3 (Mister Raja) told the board that conflicting bids and proposals required rebidding so consultants could be evaluated on a consistent basis.
"We've had a lot on our plates, you know, from rebranding to just a lot of other things. So, hopefully, next month, we'll have a more kind of informative update for you all then as far as our progress on that," Mister Raja said, adding that staff hope at least to start the project this fiscal year but may need to carry it into the next fiscal year.
When the chair asked whether a concession stand was included, Mister Raja said the study would "include all elements of Stansel Park" and that whether the property remains a park in its current form or is reimagined would be determined by the feasibility work.
Next steps: staff will rebid consultant proposals for an apples-to-apples comparison and provide a more detailed update at an upcoming meeting; no formal vote was taken.
