Council Member Green explained the measure is a routine biennial resolution that identifies the clerk as the person responsible for ensuring compliance with the state training requirements. He asked the council to adopt the resolution and said Janice Bates is better positioned to answer questions about the training content.
The council opened a public hearing on the resolution, heard no comments, and the clerk called the roll. The resolution passed with all members voting in the affirmative. Council members also noted that the state will circulate information about sunshine-law training and that additional training for council and staff may be scheduled later in the year.
