At the Feb. 9 meeting the Mountain View–Los Altos Union High School District board approved revisions to the district’s policy and administrative regulation addressing response to immigration enforcement.
Trustee Catherine moved to adopt the replacement policy and regulation (policy/regulation number discussed for clarity); the motion was seconded and the board approved the change by voice vote (recorded 4‑0). Trustees noted the revision followed recommended practice and acknowledged reliance on California School Boards Association guidance for emergency or time‑sensitive policy alignment.
Board discussion included a brief procedural exchange clarifying which prior policy was being removed and confirming the change was being taken on an expedited basis due to perceived urgency related to recent enforcement actions. Trustees said they were comfortable revising the text later if minor adjustments are needed.
The new policy will be posted with the board’s policy packet and implemented immediately. The board did not raise concerns about legal authority to adopt the change on an expedited basis and recorded no separate amendments.
