The report included a single programmatic finding related to missing deadlines for comprehensive school safety plans at school sites; staff said that issue has been rectified. The audit documents were made available in both paper and digital form to trustees.
During discussion, trustees asked about the district’s reserve levels. The auditor said the district was not below state required reserves; board policy sets a 17% reserve target. Staff said unaudited actuals briefly showed the district a few hundred thousand dollars below the board’s 17% target in the last fiscal year but that reconciled figures currently show the district at the 17% board‑target level.
Trustee Catherine moved to accept the report; Trustee Esme seconded. The board approved the motion by voice vote (recorded 4‑0). Staff will continue routine financial reporting and include requested reserve‑level specifics in upcoming budget updates.
The board’s acceptance fulfills the state‑mandated annual audit requirement and provides a public record of the district’s fiscal status for the year.
