Parent speaker Evan Torrey told the board that parents remain “confused and frustrated” by a lack of timely communication about the change and urged an immediate option so ninth graders could complete required health credit this semester. “By delaying making any alternative options available, the school district is keeping students in a holding pattern,” Torrey said, adding some students face an indelible W on their transcript if they drop ethnic studies without a viable health alternative.
