The sheriff reported 7,363 total complaints in 2025 and said deputies investigated roughly 576 accidents, with 97 people injured and six fatalities cited in the accident investigations. The office issued 546 warrants and cleared 413 of them. The sheriff also reported 13 sheriff sales and said the department booked 821 people in 2025, a decline from previous years.
Sheriff Allison said the county jail can hold up to 265 people and that the current population was about 131. There were no jail fatalities or escapes reported for the period covered. The jail provided 173,786 meals in the year and operates male work-release programming; the sheriff noted the female cells were temporarily used to house a juvenile being tried as an adult with separation requirements.
The sheriff mentioned a pending commissary contract that will be affected by an FCC ruling and that the department hopes to hire a deputy soon. Commissioners asked questions and then accepted the jail report by unanimous vote.
The acceptance was a procedural approval and did not change jail operations immediately; the sheriff and staff will follow up, including any action required by the commissary contract change.
