Mills County sets interview panel to vet top Law Enforcement Center camera bidders

Mills County Commissioners on Feb. 9 reviewed bids for cameras at the Law Enforcement Center and directed staff to interview the two vendors that met bid qualifications. David Sun presented the bid results, saying two bidders scored as qualified while three did not meet specifications. Commissioners proposed a three‑person interview panel composed of sheriff’s office representatives, county staff and Commissioner Williams to evaluate the top two bidders and clarify submitted proposals.
The panel will include representation from the jail side and the technology side so commissioners said it would cover operational and technical needs. After the panel conducts interviews, staff will return to Commissioners Court with a recommendation, with the court expecting to act on the recommendation at the Feb. 23 meeting.
Commissioner Williams made the motion to set up the panel and the court approved the motion by voice vote; no final vendor selection or contract award was made at the Feb. 9 meeting.
