At its Aug. 13 meeting the Town of Oakland commission approved Ordinance 2024-09, a second public hearing and adoption amending chapter 14 of the town code to correct scrivener's errors and update the impact-fee schedule.
Staff explained the ordinance is intended to bring several impact fees "back up to where they need to be" after prior carrying-forward of incorrect figures. “That’s all it is. It’s just housekeeping,” staff said during the presentation.
A commissioner moved to approve the ordinance, a second was recorded, and the motion was approved by voice vote. The ordinance updates the codified impact-fee schedule and includes standard severability and effective-date language.
Why it matters: Impact fees fund infrastructure and ensuring those fees are correct affects future development contributors and the town’s ability to recover costs for services and capital improvements.
